Our ‘Ripple’ bowls simulate the effect of throwing a pebble on the water surface. Such a complex shape is made possible through casting techniques. Staying true to its goal of only using materials from natural sources, Echizen pioneered in Japan’s lacquer scene by using recycled plant materials as a source for castable polymers. Ripple predominantly uses fibres which were recycled from corn and comes in red or black.
